If someone is a Christian it is only because that person has placed their personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We are not saved by doing good, attending a local church, or even by being baptized. The Bible teaches us in Ephesians 2:8-9. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
       The Bible tells us the truth about ourselves. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (Romans 3:23). And the price for that sin is death. Not only physical death, but spiritual death in hell, eternally separated from God. "For the wages of sin is death;" (Romans 6:23a).
       You see, mankind has a problem, our sin has separated us from God. for someone to go to Heaven he/she must be forgiven of all their sins. I am sure you've heard it said, "you must be born again." But you must if you are ever going to see Heaven! Jesus said, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God,". (John 3:3). You cannot get to heaven as you are, you must be cleansed and forgiven of all your sins. To be born again is a new life, a new nature that only comes from Christ in the heart.
       Christ did all the work for you. He died on the cross for your sins. They buried Him in a tomb but now He is alive to save you! All that God ask of you is to believe or trust in what Christ has already done. On the cross Jesus took your place. He was judged by God that you might be forgiven. The Bible reads in II Corinthians 5:21, "For he hath made him (Jesus) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."
       Will you now receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior? "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13). Believe in Jesus today! You might pray and ask Him like this from your heart.

     Lord, I know I am a sinner. If I died today I would not go to Heaven. But I believe that you died just for me. And I receive you now as my personal Savior. Jesus save me. Help me now to live for. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
